Jim Walter Resources Jim Walter Resources (JWR) is the southernmost Appalachian coal producer in America. JWR was est. in 1977 and produces high quality coal from Alabama's Blue Creek seam. Since inception, JWR has grown from a small producer of coal to one of the 25 largest coal producers in the United States. JWR is a subsidiary of Walter Energy which is the world's leading "pure play" metallurgical coal producer for the global steel industry and has strategic access to high-growth steel markets in Asia, South America and Europe. The Westervelt Company In 1884, Herbert Westervelt began a career in the paper industry, developing Prairie States Paper Corporation, now known as The Westervelt Company. Welcome to Worker’s Compensation Association of West Alabama! The mission of WCAWA is to provide an opportunity for industry and risk management professionals to exchange ideas and information relating to the “everyday” issues faced in managing workers’ compensation claims. We offer educational advancement by providing professional speakers to members, educational seminars, social interaction and networking. We are also proud to give back to the community through scholarship opportunities. WCAWA is entering its thirteenth year this September 2009.
